Where the Crawdads Sing

368 pages / 12h12 minutes audio

I saw this in a list of recommended books and hesitated, then Marjane mentioned it and I decided to give it a go. I'm so glad I did.

It would be difficult to say much without giving away the story but we get to follow the the rollercoaster life & experiences of Catherine Danielle Clark (Kya) or the swamp girl through to her peaceful death.

Its a story rich in emotion with a captivating narrative.

To quote Atticus Finch (To Kill a Mockingbird) “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… until you climb in his skin and walk around in it.” Its a story that should make you think.

Who should read it? Everyone who is interested in questions of society and human nature but possibly not younger readers or with adult guidance due to the presence/suggestion of more 'adult' ideas and some use of swearwords.
